Brad's Barn Addition

I was recently working in my barn and realized I needed more room. I have about a 1000' board feet of rough cut lumber stored in the corner of my barn and I need the space for my future work bench. I decided to build a lean to on the side of the barn where I can store my tractor implements (Bushhog box-blade and forks) as well as various types of rough-cut lumber.
I had to cut down two pine trees that were about 10-12 inches at the base. As I was attempting to remove the stumps with my MX5100 4wd Kubota, I realized I finally found something my Tractor couldn't do. I had to ask my dad to give me a hand with track hoe.
Pine trees are no joke. They have a serious tap root. Look at the size of the hole it left behind.
After my dad dug the stumps out of the dirt, it was time for me to level and grade the ground in prep for the future lean-to.
The dirt smoothing turned out pretty good. Now its time to start building.
***** UPDATE 10/06/08 *******
I have changed my plans... as usual. I have decided to build a hurricane shelter using a connex box and the only place I could find to put it is where I was going to put the lean to. Go check out the new article for more details.
